Attendance
Regular attendance at school provides children with the best start. Government statistics show that children who attend school regularly achieve higher standards.
Parents are required to notify the school as to the reason for absence via a letter, telephone call or email.
Whilst a request for ‘leave of absence’ in exceptional circumstances be granted, the regulations make it quite clear that parents do not have the right or an entitlement to take a child out of school for the purposes of a family holiday during term time.
